What does it take to bring your idea to life as a young professional? In our opening fireside chat for EduFest WA, we'll be sitting down with SheCodes Founder, and Young West Australian Of The Year, Kate Kirwin, as she unpacks her intrapreneurial career pathway as she accessed opportunities, developed her skills, and brought SheCodes to life as an intrapreneur.

This candid fireside chat will shed light on the opportunities available for young professionals in the workforce today, and how our students can apply their work ready skills to make real change in the organsations and communities they will be working in.

Following our Speakers Corner, attendees will be getting hands on with an Educators' Design Sprint that will see them working in teams to develop a tangible resource, learning experience, or initiative to take back to their communities. How can educators design and deliver innovative learning experiences in the classroom that engage students and leave a lasting impact?

Join us for an action-packed design sprint where attendees will collaborate to develop resources, templates, and frameworks for crafting impactful learning experiences quickly and easily within their communities.

 

Whether you're looking for a transferable template to expedite approval processes, a toolkit for sourcing industry partners for learning experiences, or a scaffold for a project-based learning unit, this design sprint offers tangible takeaways to bring back to your community.
 

Facilitated by social entrepreneur and innovative educator, Lily Kennedy, this session will also give attendees the chance to experience the innovation process firsthand.

As we work to develop impactful learning experiences for our students, things don't always go to plan. Whilst a quick scroll on LinkedIn might make it seem like education innovators are having success after success, in reality there are a smattering of failures along the way. 

During our Mistakes That Made Us conversation, we will be hearing authentic stories from education leaders across the state as they share their stories from when things didn't go to plan. We'll be hearing what went wrong, how they learnt from it, and how they used those learnings to do better next time.
