Caitlin McKeown is an Environmental and Marine Science student, and the founder of We Spot Turtles!, an award-winning conservation tech startup that uses AI-powered photo-recognition to help protect endangered sea turtles. With a background in both media and science, Caitlin combines real-world fieldwork experience with innovation to build tools that make science more accessible. 

We Spot Turtles! is a global platform that empowers everyday citizens to photograph, identify and track individual turtles using just their smartphones. Now piloting across seven countries, the project transforms simple sightings into valuable scientific data, fostering environmental awareness and digital skills while showing the next generation they don’t have to wait to make a difference.
