Renae Sayers is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Curtin University’s School of Earth and Planetary Sciences, where she delivers high-impact collaborations at the intersection of science, strategy, and storytelling. In 2024, she led the development of the School’s Strategy and Capability Document, anchoring a whole-of-school uplift in profile, partnerships, and purpose.A catalyst for cross-disciplinary impact, Renae helped establish the Curtin Frontiers Institute for Geoscience Solutions and has been instrumental in founding transformative programs including the Space Science and Technology Centre, the Binar Space Program, and the AROSE consortium. Her work has shaped Western Australia’s space ecosystem—blending strategic leadership with frontline delivery—from launching WA’s first spacecraft to spearheading the science programming behind Cosmos on Campus, one of Curtin’s most ambitious public engagement events.An award-winning science communicator and trusted advisor across university, industry, and government sectors, Renae’s influence spans continents. She is passionate about community and capability building, and in STEM outreach programs like BinarX, she champions “making space in service of others.” Internationally recognised through the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program, AMCHAM, and the Australian American Leadership Dialogue, Renae translates strategy into impact—uniting people, platforms, and purpose to deliver outcomes that resonate locally and globally.
