Jess Silva

Regional Leader WA

Questacon

Jess Silva is the Regional Leader for Western Australia in Educator Programs at Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre. Based in Boorloo (Perth) on Wadjuk Country, Jess brings over a decade of experience in STEM education, including five years as a classroom teacher where she developed and led innovative STEM programs tailored to real-world learning.


Prior to her current role, Jess spent several years at Scitech, where she designed and facilitated the After School STEM Club, an initiative grounded in project-based learning (PBL) that empowered students to explore STEM through hands-on, inquiry-driven projects. Her work has focused on making STEM accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all learners, particularly through industry-aligned and community-connected approaches.


Jess is passionate about equipping educators with the tools and confidence to bring PBL into their classrooms and is a strong advocate for inclusive, future-focused STEM education across regional and remote communities.
