Coming to Geraldton in 2024, the EduFest WA Professional Learning Day will empower local educators to create innovative learning experiences for their students that help them develop the work capabilities required to thrive in the future of work.
This one day professional learning event will step attendees through the design thinking process, as they hear from inspiring speakers, showcase their ideas, and build sustainable partnerships with industry and the broader community. Working collaboratively with colleagues across sectors, attendees will be working to redesign curriculum, create impactful initiatives for their community, and craft innovative learning experiences for their students.
As we work to prepare students with the skillsets and mindsets required to thrive in an ever changing future of work, the EduFest WA Professional Learning Day will see attendees exploring how they can help their students develop the following work capabilities in innovative and engaging ways:

The EduFest WA Professional Learning Day has been designed to step attendees through the design thinking process as they create impactful solutions, initiatives, and learning experiences for their students. Throughout the day, attendees will have an opportunity to hear from inspiring speakers, network with industry and community leaders, and collaborate with educators from across sectors. Keynote Address | Future Of Work
Attendees will be hearing from innovative educator, business leader, and generational consultant, Scott Millar, as he unpacks the emerging technologies changing how we live, work, and play, and shares his strategies for how we can all find opportunity in an uncertain world.

Professional Learning | How Might We...
Attendees will be challenged to develop a ‘how might we’ statement centred around how they can better help their students develop the skillsets, mindsets, and experiences required to thrive in the workforce of the future.
10:40am - 11:10am

We'll be having a brain break to network, process our ideas, and refresh before our next session.

Fireside Chat | Building Innovative Learning Experiences
We’ll be sitting down with a selection of innovative educators to hear their stories and experiences from building a culture of innovation in their communities and how they have worked to build craft innovative and impactful learning experiences for their students.

Professional Learning | Design Sprint
Attendees will have the opportunity to research how other schools and communities around the world are approaching the ‘how might we’ statements they are working to solve. From here, they will engage in a design sprint as they develop a diverse selection of solutions for the 'how might we' statement they have identified for their community.

Soap Box Session | Industry Innovators
A selection of community and industry leaders will join us for a showcase opportunity. This will commence with each industry and community partner delivering a short ‘Soapbox’ on who they are, what they do, and how they can help innovative educators. From here, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with these industry leaders.

What Will I Have Learnt By The End Of The Day?
By the end of the day all attendees will have created a tangible action plan to take back to their school community in response to the 'How Might We' statement they pose at the beginning of the day.
