Richard Spence

Director of Teaching and Learning PK-12

Scotch College

Richard trained in the UK and spent several years teaching in inner London comprehensive schools before relocating to Western Australia. He has taught in both public and private schools over here, including experience teaching in regional WA. Prior to his current role Richard was part of the small team that opened Bob Hawke college in 2020. In his current role Richard has oversight for curriculum and pedagogy at Scotch, and has a particular interest in supporting and developing Early Career teachers. The ConnectED program was born of a desire to more specifically meet the needs of this cohort of teachers who are starting their careers in an increasingly complex and demanding environment.
