Pia Tilka

Pia Tilka is a passionate STEM educator with experience in teaching across both primary and secondary school. Known for her hands-on, student-centred approach, Pia is committed to fostering student agency and deep engagement in STEM learning. Her practice is grounded in the belief that when students are given voice, choice, and real-world purpose in their learning, they thrive, not just academically, but as confident, capable problem-solvers.

At EduFest 2025, Pia is co-presenting a Masterclass on student agency and knowledge in STEM, where she and her colleagues will explore practical strategies for creating empowering, inquiry-rich STEM classrooms. Drawing on her own classroom experience and reflective practice, Pia will share tools and insights that educators can use to inspire student ownership and creativity in STEM.
